MassMutual Introduces Mobile App For BeneClick! Benefits Exchange

PR Newswire

ENFIELD, Conn., May 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- With many Americans prioritizing the importance of healthcare, life and disability protection*, MassMutual is introducing a new mobile app to answer the question, "Am I covered?" with the press of a button.

The new BeneClick!SM Mobile App for smartphones and tablets supports MassMutual's BeneClick!, the first benefits exchange that combines insurance protection, healthcare coverage and retirement savings plans on a single platform.  Benefits exchanges are online markets that enable people to shop for benefits, including those offered through their employer or purchased individually.

The BeneClick!  app is accessible only through a personal identification number (PIN) and connects workers who access their employer-provided benefits through BeneClick!.

"You probably don't think about your workplace benefits until you need them, and when you do, it's an effort to dig up the information," said Bill Silvanic, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Product Management. "Employees do know that the BeneClick! website keeps all of their benefits information in one convenient place but that's not as useful when you're on the go. Which is where the BeneClick! app comes in."

The BeneClick! mobile app provides access to a range of important benefits information:

  • Existing benefits coverage information;
  • Insurance identification and policy numbers;
  • Account information such as balances and rate of return information within 401(k) and other employer-provided defined contribution retirement savings plans; and
  • Wellness support services, including activity tracking devices, telemedicine and medical concierge services.

The app was created to meet a demand for benefits information as 74 percent of American workers say having enough medical insurance protection is very important and 52 percent say having adequate life and disability insurance protection is very important, according to the 2015 MassMutual Employee Benefits Security Study.* The app helps them answer questions about their coverage whenever they need it.

Created by Maxwell Health, the app is available at no charge for Apple® and Android™ smartphones through the Apple App StoreSM and Google Play™ app store, respectively, to workers who have already made use of BeneClick!.  The tool will direct users to the appropriate site to download the app to their smartphone.

BeneClick! is powered by Maxwell Health's benefits technology platform and integrates MassMutual's MapMyBenefitsSM tool, which enables employees to prioritize their benefits choices, helping to make the most of each benefit dollar based on their life stages, financial goals and personal finances. This all-inclusive approach to workplace benefits combines retirement readiness, healthcare coverage and preparation for life's unforeseen events.

"BeneClick! and MapMyBenefits were introduced to help employers and their employees better manage benefits and make better decisions about them," Silvanic said. "The BeneClick! app, like the MapMyBenefits app before it, amplify those advantages by providing immediate access to information."
