Marjaree Mason Center names Top Ten honorees

Aug. 16--The Marjaree Mason Center announced the list of honorees for the 33rd annual Top Ten Professional Women and Leading Business Awards.

Honorees are chosen for being community role models who have raised awareness for domestic violence. They span business, medicine, education and government work and were selected by a judging committee from nominations from community members.

This year's Leading Business winner is Facility Designs, honored for its commitment to supporting women and their issues.

Around 1,000 people are expected to gather on Oct. 14 in downtown Fresno for a luncheon ceremony to recognize the winners. Keynote speaker Miss America 2015 Kira Kazantsev chose anti-domestic violence advocacy as her pageant platform.

Kazantsev is expected to share a personal story of domestic violence and will speak about her #PutTheNailinIt campaign with Safe Horizon, the largest nonprofit victim services agency in the country.

The campaign encourages participants to show their support to ending domestic violence by painting their left ring fingernail purple, the color of the anti-domestic violence movement.

A reception hosted by DiBuduo and DeFendis Insurance Brokers will also honor the recognized honorees on Sept. 8.

Tickets for the Oct. 14 reception are on sale through the event website, www.mmcenter.org/top-ten. Tickets are $60 each or $600 for a table of 10.
