Liberty International Underwriters Teams with Spill Center to Develop Mobile App for Policyholder Environmental Spill Response, Management

Targeted News Service (Press Releases)

BOSTON, Nov. 8 -- Liberty Mutual Group issued the following news release:

aEurosLiberty International Underwriters, part of Liberty Mutual Insurance, has teamed up with Spill Center, Inc. to offer its environmental policyholders a new program - Liberty One Timely Accident Preparedness (TAP) - which is designed to improve a company's readiness to respond quickly and efficiently to pollution events and environmental releases requiring cleanup and reporting.

Liberty One TAP marks the first time that Spill Center will offer its online tool as a customer-facing mobile app - giving LIU customers immediate, direct access to response and reporting tools. Whether in the office or out in the field, LIU's customers can control activation of their emergency response plan, create and manage internal alert and communication systems, and identify the local incident reporting requirements based on the location.

"The digital and sharing economy is changing every industry, and customer expectations and behaviors with technology are rapidly evolving," said William Bell, Senior Vice President of Environmental for LIU. "To ensure we are delivering services when and where our customers want them, we are working closely with companies like Spill Center to offer technology-driven options that drive down costs and automate standard business operations. Through Spill Center, our environmental policyholders now have immediate access to the latest reporting technology that will help them more easily manage environmental incidents and get fast, expert service in the event of a spill."

Through Liberty One TAP, LIU customers have access to a dedicated team of professionals 365 days a year, 24/7, to help find cleanup contractors, assess and manage cleanup and site remediation, handle incident reporting, and provide guidance to help them contain costs and limit potential liability related to environmental releases. The Liberty One TAP program links customers to a database containing more than 3,000 qualified cleanup contractors as well as listings of nearly 30,000 federal, state, provincial and local jurisdictions. The tool can help expedite access to critical services and make reporting claims, as outlined in individual policies, easier.

"Spill Center's services provide LIU's clients' with real-time communication and response capabilities including access to our 24/7 call center that ensures adequate response is available anytime, anywhere, even at night and during weekends and holidays," said Tom Moses, President of Spill Center, Inc. "When LIU's customers use our app, we immediately know who they are and where they are, and we can quickly deploy spill response and reporting resources to support them. A unique aspect of the app is a mobile dashboard that is customized to each customers' business and used to distribute alerts and interface with LIU's in-house team."
