Letter: There’s no reason to believe Harris will make things better

Kamala Harris’ television ads state that the middle class is struggling: high food prices, they can’t afford a new car, a new house is out of reach, but she will fix it. Well excuse me, but her administration’s policies for the last four years have caused these problems. This is exactly what happens when you put people in office to run our country, which is the biggest business in the world, and they lack experience in the private sector.
Harris has been flip-flopping on her past campaign positions. She said she would ban fracking and offshore drilling, give government health care to illegal immigrants, free transgender surgery for illegal immigrants in prison and decriminalize felony drug laws and prostitution.
She opposed the border wall and called for defunding the police and Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ending private health insurance, banning the sale of gas-powered vehicles and enacting mandatory gun buybacks. She favors no restrictions on abortions.
Now she has changed her position on many of these issues. When asked about Harris’ changed positions, Sen. Bernie Sanders said the vice president needs to say whatever she needs to win the election.
One thing Harris couldn’t answer: Are you better off now than you were four years ago? Crickets.
