Kansas Department of Insurance: Commissioner Vicki Schmidt Selected for NAIC Committee Leadership

TOPEKA, Kansas, Jan. 25 -- The Kansas Department of Insurance issued the following news release:
Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt has been appointed by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) to Chair the Property & Casualty (C) Committee, commonly referred to as the "C Committee."
"To be selected to Chair a committee one year into my first term is a tremendous honor," Commissioner Vicki Schmidt said. "This committee covers a wide range of insurance products and I look forward to using my experience to ask the right questions and work toward addressing some of the unique challenges we are seeing in the industry."
The (C) Committee's work includes but is not limited to issues such as cannabis insurance, pet insurance, flood insurance and transparency and readability of consumer information. Commissioner Vicki Schmidt is the second Commissioner from Kansas to Chair the (C) Committee.
In addition to her leadership on the (C) Committee, she will also be serving on the Life Insurance and Annuities (A) Committee and the Health Insurance and Managed Care (B) Committee.
Commissioner Schmidt is the first Kansas Commissioner to simultaneously serve on all three committees.
