Increase in Deer-Related Car Crashes Should Remind Drivers to Exercise Caution on the Road, says Legal Defenders at the Law Offices of Burg & Brock

PR Web

LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) December 20, 2019

A November 4 article on NBC 4 reported on an expected increase of car collisions in Ohio due to deer mating season. Ohio State Highway Patrol said that there have already been an astonishing 13,000 deer-related crashes this year in the state. During this time of year, OSHP noted that the best way to navigate through the season is to be alert at all times and to slow down instead of swerving when animals appear as that could make accidents worse. Los Angeles-based personal injury firm Legal Defenders at the Law Offices of Burg & Brock says that while deer-related accidents may be significantly less frequent in Southern California, animals from coyotes to opossums and squirrels as well as feral or stray dogs and cats are frequent causes of area accidents. Moreover, animals are just one of many unexpected hazards that may force split-second decisions from drivers and that definitely includes other drivers impaired by substances, distraction, or both.

The legal team stresses the importance of remaining alert and focused when driving. Especially as winter settles in and roadways become slick from rain, Legal Defenders says that overestimating one's driving skills on familiar highways and streets can easily turn into an expensive mistake and too many drivers succumb to the temptation to drive with excessive speed when, in fact, they should be driving more slowly than usual. The law firm notes that by simply slowing down, drivers achieve better control of their vehicles should anything unexpected happen. The firm adds that an easy way to make sure there's no need to rush or speed is by planning for traffic and allotting an extra few minutes to drive to one's destination.

The Los Angeles injury firm emphasizes how priceless driving cautiously is compared to the financial and physical costs that can accompany a car accident. Legal Defenders says a split second of unfocused attention is all it takes to become a victim of a motor collision. Whether it's reading a text, fussing with Bluetooth features, or just not concentrating on driving, a minor lapse in focus can be the difference between a safe trip home and a potentially deadly or debilitating accident. The Law Offices of Burg & Brock note that paying full attention to the task at hand of navigating through busy Los Angeles traffic not only ensures the safety of the driver but can save drivers money not only by avoiding accidents small or large but in terms of money and time spent on citations, traffic school, insurance increases, and all the rest.
