Horizon becomes official health insurer of Rutgers Athletics

Under the agreement, Horizon will co-brand its messages at games on Rutgers University’s New Brunswick, Newark and Camden campuses.

“This partnership brings New Jersey’s largest insurer and New Jersey’s largest university together in a new way to support the state’s top college athletes and help Rutgers students, alumni and fans lead healthier and more active lives,” said Kevin Conlin, chairman, CEO and president of Horizon BCBSNJ, in a prepared statement.

Horizon will offer game-day wellness activities at the new Horizon BCBSNJ Fan Corner, including light health screenings and health education, and meet-and-greets with Rutgers football alumni, according to the announcement.

BCBSNJ’s “Horizon Healthy Huddle” will offer healthier options at two of its concession stands at the HighPoint Solutions Stadium football games, in addition to another concession stand at the Rutgers Athletic Center during basketball games and other sports matches.
