Gras Savoye Willis Towers Watson France chooses SAS® to accelerate the transformation of its brokerage and insurance consulting activities

PR Newswire

PARIS, July 5, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Gras Savoye Willis Towers Watson France has chosen SAS® Viya®  to conduct its innovation strategy and its digital transformation, which focuses on the enhancement of data and aims to improve the customer experience, manage talent, modernize business processes and develop a culture of innovation. The partnership with SAS also includes a major component dedicated to data governance, which is essential for the company's compliance with the GDPR.

Analytics at the heart of a vast data enhancement plan
As part of its Vision 2020 strategic plan, Gras Savoye Willis Towers Watson France has embarked on a major transformation and innovation program based on the enhancement of data.

"Even though we already worked with SAS for our actuarial activities for a few years, we wished to deploy many more innovative solutions. We had a considerable amount of unstructured data, and in the context of the GDPR and synergies relating to the integration of Gras Savoye with Willis Towers Watson, analytics has emerged as a powerful lever for transformation and value creation," explains Maurice Parraguette, Director of Operations, Gras Savoye Willis Towers Watson France. "SAS Viya now allows us to have a very modern solution to work with in the future by exploiting existing heterogeneous systems which are sometimes very old."

A transverse analytics culture usable by all the group's businesses
The partnership started with a two and a half month consultancy mission during in which SAS studied the amounts of value related to data processing in an approach that reaches across all the group's businesses.

Internally, the deployment of the solution aims to spread a shared analytics culture to all group employees and improve processes and decision-making by providing useful data to actuaries (and associated advanced analytical tools like neural networks, etc.), but also to financials, sales and operational staff for their clients.

The goal is also to open up the system completely to offer products and services directly to customers providing the results of analysis from the SAS platform.

"Thanks to SAS solutions, we've already worked on a new approach to using data with a very large account to improve the prevention of major claims based on analyzing minor claims," adds Maurice Parraguette. "This is typically something that our previous systems couldn't highlight because of their complexity and volume, even though we had this concrete data."
