Gov. Hickenlooper Appoints Gilpin County Court Judge in the First Judicial District

DENVER, Sept. 11 -- Gov. John Hickenlooper, D-Colo., issued the following news release:
Gov. John Hickenlooper today appointed David Cooper Taylor to fill the vacancy in the office of Gilpin County Court Judge in the First Judicial District. The vacancy is occurring due to the resignation of the Honorable David. R. Gloss.
Taylor is currently a Staff Attorney for the 5th Judicial District and Of Counsel at the Law Office of Edward Shindel. His practice consists of civil, criminal, domestic, business, estate planning, and property law. Previously, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Russell H. Granger of the 5th Judicial District and a law clerk to the Honorable Daniel M. Long of the Circuit Court for Somerset County, Maryland. Taylor earned his undergraduate degree from Mary Washington College in 2002 and his Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University in 2005.
The appointment is effective January 13, 2015 and is conditioned upon Taylor becoming an elector of Gilpin County.
