VENICE — Friends and coworkers have started GoFundMe donation pages for two Venice High School teachers affected by Hurricane Ian.
One of the pages was for Brian Crocker, an English teacher and softball coach at VHS. According to the GoFundMe, he lives in flood zone C, which means he has no flood insurance.
Crocker's neighborhood flooded and his house had water four feet high, the page stated. Along with his house, his car was also not drivable.

Venice High teacher Jenny Watson and her family also had significant damage to their house.
According to a GoFundMe page, the family's house had ceilings collapse along with structural and water damage. Their plan B was to live in their camper.
However, the camper was also destroyed in the hurricane.
The family will be displaced for a long time, the page stated, and were not sure when they could return to work.
