Generali Switzerland Chooses Outsourcing Services from Swiss Post Solutions for Specific Logistics and Digitization Operations

PR Web

(PRWEB) May 25, 2017

Swiss Post Solutions (SPS), a leading outsourcing provider for business process solutions and innovative services in document management, announced an outsourcing agreement with the Generali Group Switzerland, one of the leading insurance companies in Switzerland. Effective September 1, 2017, Generali will outsource its mailroom and document digitization operations to SPS with the aim to improve overall efficiency. The agreement will allow Generali to benefit from the innovative strengths and expertise that SPS provides in the area of information logistics.

Over the past three years, Generali Switzerland has successfully transformed all document logistics of its general insurance business from late scanning to early scanning. Consequently, all physical and digital incoming mail has been integrated into its workflows. Most of the physical output is now being processed end-to-end while the transformation from late to early scanning in the life insurance business has just started.

"The cooperation with Swiss Post Solutions ensures the logistics services of Generali Switzerland continually develop over the long term with the additional advantage that we profit from the innovative potential that SPS provides as the market leader in Switzerland in the field of information logistics," said Andreas Kruemmel, CEO Generali Group Switzerland.

Currently, all incoming mail processing, the scanning, classification and control of the physical archive are being managed at the two head offices of Generali Switzerland. The full outsourcing arrangement with SPS will provide high synergies and, likewise, fewer interfaces. However, SPS will continue to carry out the same activities at the two head offices of Generali Switzerland. This secures the jobs in the transition to SPS, and nothing changes for those individuals affected except the change of the employer.

Joerg Vollmer, CEO Swiss Post Solutions said, "More and more insurance companies are outsourcing their logistics and digitization operations as they can see the benefits such as operational scale and significant investment savings. We are delighted that Generali has decided to outsource specific Logistics and Digitization Operations to Swiss Post Solutions and that we can support Generali in its digital transformation. With this step, Generali will be able to achieve considerably shorter processing times for its customers."
