GEICO’s Marlton Office Looking to Hire Adjusters, has Increased Salaries

Business Wire

Associate Tenesia Dunn: “I was simply looking for a job, but, now, I truly see myself retiring at GEICO”

MARLTON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
GEICO looks to hire liability claims adjusters and personal injury protection adjusters.

In the last year, GEICO increased starting salaries for several positions at the company’s Marlton office. GEICO also offers an excellent benefits package and rolled out a new hybrid work schedule once associates complete orientation.

Marlton associate Tenesia Dunn, currently a telephone claims representative who is from the area, came to GEICO at her sister’s insistence—her sister worked at GEICO’s Macon office at the time.

Seven years ago, Dunn had just graduated from college and was job searching. So, she applied at GEICO, had an interview a week later and was on her way to living in Macon in no time.

Dunn started in emergency roadside service, where she was responsible for dispatching tow trucks to customers in need.

“GEICO was much different from the jobs I had previously. The training was intense and detailed – but they are clearly setting you up for success. I loved all my coaches. The trainers were great. In fact, I keep many of my trainers updated to this day with what I’m doing,” said Dunn.

While Dunn thrived in Macon, she missed home, but didn’t want to leave GEICO, so she constantly refreshed the Marlton careers page. She eventually found an executive administrative assistant position and was back in the Garden State.

The week she got to Marlton, there was a GEICO Cares event. Associates came together to help landscape and remove treacherous trees from a neighborhood.

“I love how much we get to give back to our communities at GEICO. This was a tough one, though; some of those trees were huge! That said, it was a ton of fun, just like when we make sandwiches for the unhoused or donate toys for kids,” said Dunn.

After just eight months in Marlton, Dunn had a conversation with her supervisor, and both agreed that she outgrew her position and started looking for other opportunities together. They found a position in claims and off she went on another adventure.

Since starting with the company in 2015, Dunn has been promoted into glass, liability and now claims.

Dunn’s experience is shared by many of her Marlton colleagues, according to Regional Vice President Mindy Seibold.

“It’s a joy to see how our associates take advantage of the flexibility GEICO offers. One year you can be in New Jersey and, come winter, you’re in San Diego or Tucson. As Tenesia noted, there are so many people training our associates and ensuring they move forward in their careers. Because of this, we're constantly opening up positions for new associates,” said Seibold.

A member of the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies, GEICO is a stable organization that was founded 85 years ago. The company's Total Rewards benefits package includes health, dental and vision coverage, paid vacation and holidays, paid bonding leave and continuing education and pre-paid tuition assistance.

This year, GEICO unveiled a new companywide education benefit: GEICO Strive, which provides pre-paid tuition and access to more than 220 schools and education providers that offer unique benefits, tailored to GEICO associates, as well as personalized career guidance and education counseling.

When asked what she tells people about GEICO, Dunn answered, “When I first began I was simply looking for a job, but now, I can truly see myself retiring with GEICO. I love the fact that you are not bound to one location. l love our education program and how some universities have offered onsite classes at local offices. I love my job because every day brings a new and exciting challenge. You're constantly learning, and it keeps you on your toes. At the same time, everyone is open and willing to help. Our customers are great. It’s a great company.”

Applications are being accepted now at GEICO.jobs/Marlton.
