DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) _ EMC Insurance Group Inc. (EMCI) on Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $1.3 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Des Moines, Iowa-based company said it had net income of 6 cents. Losses, adjusted for investment gains, came to 10 cents per share.
The insurance holding company posted revenue of $182.6 million in the period.
EMC Insurance Group shares have climbed 13% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 39% in the last 12 months.
