Economy, Arizonans' Health Care Access Threatened by Republican Lawsuit to Strike Down Pre-Existing Condition Coverage Protections

PHOENIX, Arizona, Dec. 9 -- The Arizona Democratic Party issued the following news release:
Over 40,000 Arizona jobs would be lost if Republicans' lawsuit to strike down pre-existing condition coverage protections is successful, according to the Economic Policy Institute.
Despite this threat to Arizona's economy and Arizonans' health care access, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich and national Republicans are continuing their lawsuit to strike down the health care law and its coverage protections.
If successful, Republicans' efforts would end coverage protections that prevent insurance companies from taking advantage of or denying coverage to people who have a pre-existing condition -- of which there are 2.8 million in Arizona.
"ArizonaDemocrats are committed to lowering health care costs, securing protections, and expanding coverage. It's dangerous and disappointing that Republicans have continued their efforts to enrich their corporate health care industry backers at the expense of Arizonans' health care access," said Matt Grodsky, spokesperson for the Arizona Democratic Party.
