Donegal Insurance Group expands with merger

Oct. 20--The directors of Southern Mutual Insurance Company and Donegal Insurance Group recently approved a consolidation of operations between the two companies.

Southern Mutual has been an affiliate of Donegal Insurance Group since 2009. As part of the expanded relationship, the Southern Mutual building in Athens is now the southeastern regional office of Donegal Insurance Group.

The staff at Southern Mutual has grown with eight new members and several other team members are working remotely. Plans for even more expansion in 2020 and beyond are in the works.
