CT man charged with DUI for fourth time since December

A man was charged with DUI on Sunday when police in South Windsor allege that he was driving an uninsured vehicle under the influence against court orders from previous DUI arrests.

Agustin X. Reyero, 47, of Windsor faces charges of violating conditions of his release, operating under the influence, improper use of a marker plate, operating without minimum insurance and operating under suspension, according to the South Windsor Police Department.

Police said he was arrested at 4:20 a.m. shortly after officers responded to the area of 601 John Fitch Boulevard on a report of an individual sleeping in his vehicle with the door open. Officers spotted the vehicle as the driver was allegedly trying to leave the area.

According to police, the driver was identified as Reyero, who was suspected to be under the influence. He reportedly agreed to take multiple field sobriety tests, which officers claim that he failed.

Officers also found that Reyero had been ordered by a judge not to drive after previous DUI arrests and that his license was suspended, police said. He also had no insurance, according to police.

According to online court records, officers with the Manchester Police Department arrested Reyero and charged him with DUI on Dec. 13, 2023. On March 31, Manchester police arrested him again on DUI and charged him with operating under suspension, records show. Reyero was also arrested by the Windsor Locks Police Department on June 25 on DUI and other charges.

Those cases remain pending in Superior Courts in Hartford and Manchester.

Following the incident on Sunday, Reyero was taken into custody and later released on a $500 non-surety bond. He is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Sept. 16.
