Richmond Register (KY)

Feb. 5--Kentucky State Police arrested a woman Monday morning on two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment after an assault was reported at the Waco BP gas station.

One of the victims said they had been in an argument with Llisha Sparks, 21, Steuben Lane, Richmond, and then was struck by Sparks' vehicle as Sparks was trying to leave, according to a citation.

Troopers also received a call from Sparks, who said she was at the dollar store on Irvine Road, and police met with her first, the citation states. Sparks said she was an in argument with the victim, and the victim refused to get out of the car.

During the argument, Sparks said she was struck and threatened by the victim, the citation states. Once the victim left the car, Sparks said she drove away.

Troopers then met with the victim, who said they were in the car arguing with Sparks, the citation states. The victim said she got out of the vehicle, and when the victim did, Sparks backed out of the parking lot, striking the victim and causing the victim to stumble.

Another person was removing their children from a car, and Sparks almost struck them with the car as well, the citation states.

Sparks was taken to the Madison County Detention Center, where she remained Tuesday afternoon, according to online jail records.

The following were also arrested recently:

--Christopher Whitt, 37, Gabbard Road, Berea, fraudulent use of a credit card ($10,000 or more).

--Melissa Lear, 47, Lake Street, Richmond, display of an illegal/altered registration plate, no registration plates, no registration receipt, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, no operator's mo-ped license, first-degree controlled substance possession (heroin), second-degree controlled substance possession (drug unspecified), buying/possessing drug paraphernalia and fugitive from another state.

All people named in connection with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
