Convicted voyeur takes plea deal

Nov. 17--ASOTIN -- A 65-year-old Clarkston man is facing 43 months in prison after pleading guilty to voyeurism and possession of child pornography charges.

Multiple felony charges against Ricky G. Dudley were consolidated in a plea agreement Monday with the state. Dudley was initially facing five counts of voyeurism with sexual motivation and 20 counts of first-degree possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. He pleaded guilty to two counts of voyeurism and one count of possession of child pornography.

Dudley appeared in Asotin County Superior Court Monday wearing street clothes. Last month, he was released from the Asotin County Jail after posting a $250,000 bond.

After entering guilty pleas, Dudley's bond was revoked and he was taken back into custody. Because the crimes are sexual in nature, his sentencing will be conducted after a psychiatric evaluation.

Dudley was arrested in early September at his home on the 2200 block of Chukar Lane on allegations he secretly recorded several young women while they were showering and using the bathroom. In addition, multiple pornographic images of children were found on his electronic devices, according to court records.

At the time of his arrest, two college students, ages 19 and 24, were reportedly living at the residence, and three teenage girls who considered Dudley a family friend were staying there overnight.

Asotin County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Curt Liedkie said officers investigating the case also discovered a vehicle that he had reported as stolen many years ago. The sports car was hidden in a secret compartment in Dudley's garage. The prosecution is not pursuing possession of a stolen vehicle or insurance fraud charges in that case, according to the agreement.

Dudley's proposed prison sentence will be followed by three years of community supervision. He will be ordered to pay fees of $1,800 and restitution to the victims, Liedkie said.

Attorney Roger Sandberg of Pullman is representing Dudley. His sentencing is set for Dec. 7 before Judge Scott D. Gallina.
