Congressman Don Davis Co-Leads Bipartisan Action to Prevent ACA Premium Spikes and Protect Affordable Healthcare
Davis is working alongside Reps.
Without immediate congressional action, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) enhanced premium tax credits would expire on
"
The bill includes the following provisions:
Extends enhanced premium tax credits through 2027 to guard families against sudden increases in monthly premiums.
Requires consumer consent and timely notification before any plan or subsidy changes take effect.
Ends hidden spread pricing, separates PBM profits from drug pricing, and ensures rebates reach patients directly.
Expands access to Health Savings Accounts and streamlines premium payments to reduce coverage disruptions.
Modernizes eligibility standards and introduces a minimum contribution requirement to protect long-term affordability and federal resources.

"I'm glad to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to bring down health care costs. Nobody wants to shell out more cash to insurance companies or PBM middlemen," said Glusenkamp Perez. "At the same time, we can't lose sight of the fact that national health doesn't come from insurance coverage — it hinges on people having good jobs, being able to sleep 8 hours a night, cook real food and see their kids at night. Affordable healthcare and medicine are imperative and worth the fight, but a strong nation is longer work."
