Commerce approves rates for individual, small group insurance

APPROVED HEALTH INSURANCE RATES FOR 2024
Details of approved health insurance rates:
Individual market: Average increases range from 1.9 percent to 5.5 percent for the 167,000 Minnesotans who buy individual health plans.
Small group market: Average increases range from 4.3 percent to 7.09 percent for the three largest carriers, covering roughly 185,000 of the 229,000 Minnesotans covered by small group plans.
Cost-saving measures:
In 2023, 66,000 Minnesotans received federal tax credits that lowered the cost of their monthly premiums. Those tax credits, only available to those who buy
insurance through MNsure, are expected to save eligible households an average of

Each year, Commerce receives, and reviews new rates proposed by health insurers for the coming year. The proposed rates do not reflect what the actual cost will be for consumers. Many Minnesotans who buy health insurance through MNsure,
