CNA Appoints Joel Townsend Senior Vice President, Claim

CHICAGO, March 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CNA today announced the appointment of Joel Townsend as Senior Vice President, Claim. In this role, he will be responsible for the delivery of technical excellence and industry-leading claims customer service for CNA's global Management Liability, Financial Institutions and Technology business units. He will report to David Perry, Senior Vice President, Specialty Claim.

"Joel has more than 25 years of experience in the management, oversight and litigation of Specialty claims, which makes him particularly well-suited to further strengthen our Claim organization's capabilities in providing best-in-class service to our customers," Perry said.

Most recently, Joel served as Senior Vice President and Worldwide Specialty Claims Manager at Chubb where he was responsible for the management of high severity and high profile claims, development and execution of home office and field claim handling, reporting and authority protocols, and coordination with business partners on Specialty claim trend identification. Prior to joining Chubb, Joel was a partner at Ross, Dixon & Masback, LLP.

Joel holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics and public policy from Stanford University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia.
