Chad Guy Daybell was convicted Thursday afternoon on all counts by an Ada County jury in his triple murder trial.
Daybell was charged with conspiracy to commit murder, first-degree murder, insurance fraud and grand theft in connection to the 2019 deaths of Lori Vallow’s children — 16-year-old Tylee Ryan and 7-year-old J.J. Vallow — and Daybell’s late wife, Tammy Daybell. Vallow, Daybell’s current wife, was charged with the same crimes last year and was found guilty on all counts.
Once a guilty verdict was read on eight counts including murder, conspiracy, insurance fraud, and grand theft for the two children and Tammy Daybell, Seventh District Judge Steven Boyce said the state intends to seek the death penalty and the sentencing phase would begin next.
Daybell showed little emotion as the verdicts were read.
