CareSource Announces Plans to Offer Marketplace Health Plan in Additional Indiana Counties for 2018 Coverage
Managed Care Weekly Digest
By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Managed Care Weekly Digest -- CareSource, a nonprofit health plan, announces that they have notified the Indiana Department of Insurance that they will offer Marketplace Health Insurance plans in 2018 to four counties that would otherwise be without an option (see also CareSource).
CareSource now plans to provide coverage in Decatur, Jackson, Wayne and Grant counties. While CareSource provided Marketplace plans in Decatur and Jackson in 2017, the health plan previously planned to exit those counties, due to low demand in the market. With these additions, CareSource now plans to offer Marketplace coverage in 79 counties in Indiana.
"As a nonprofit health plan with a 28-year history of serving vulnerable populations, CareSource's decision to offer Marketplace coverage in these counties is a reflection of our deep commitment to helping Hoosiers obtain quality health care coverage," said Steve Smitherman, CareSource Executive Director, Indiana. "We are looking forward to serving residents in Decatur, Jackson, Wayne and Grant."
