Car overturned on Broadway: Arlington Police Log

Tuesday, Jan. 21

2:01 a.m.: An officer saw a motor vehicle that was parked in violation of the overnight parking ban. The officer checked the car's registration and noted the car did have any insurance. The car was towed from the scene and the police collected the license plates. The owner of the vehicle came out during the towing and police told them that they would have to call their insurance company and once that was figured out, they could collect their car at the police station.

Thursday, Jan. 23

11:37 a.m: A resident said that their wallet had been stolen from their apartment. The resident said they had not left their apartment for several days, but that their ID and several credit cards had been taken out of their wallet. Police advised the resident to contact their credit card company to cancel the cards.

Saturday, Jan. 25

2:48 p.m.: Police and fire were called to a car accident on Broadway. When police arrived, a vehicle was lying on its roof. Police located the driver who was walking outside of the vehicle. A passenger was still trapped in the vehicle and complaining of chest pain. The fire department was able to extract the passenger from the vehicle, and transported both the passenger and driver to the hospital with minor injuries. Police spoke with several witnesses, who said that the vehicle appeared to be driving straight before it suddenly swerved to the right, striking a tree and then getting knocked onto its roof. Police filed an immediate threat with the department of motor vehicles to determine if the operator was a danger to be driving.

Sunday, Jan. 26

1:22 p.m.: Police responded to an accident at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Mill Street. Two vehicles collided when going through the intersection. Three people were transported to the hospital for minor injuries. One operator was cited for failure to yield.
