CAP Issues Analysis on Dangers of ACA Repeal By Reconciliation
Targeted News Service (Press Releases)
WASHINGTON, Nov. 15 -- The Center for American Progress issued the following news release:
Tomorrow the Center for American Progress will release a new analysis on how a plan by Congressional Republicans to repeal the Affordable Care Act, or ACA, under a Trump administration will unravel the insurance market before a repeal even goes into effect and before a replacement plan is in place.
We invite members of the media to join a press call with CAP Senior Fellow Zeke Emanuel, President of Enroll America Anne Filipic, CAP Vice President for Health Policy Topher Spiro, and Washington state Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler to discuss the dire outcomes of the incoming president repealing the ACA by reconciliation.
Please join us on Wednesday, November 16, from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. ET Call-in details are below.
CAP's issue brief examines how last year's ACA reconciliation bill--which was vetoed by President Barack Obama, but could be revived by a Republican-controlled Congress and White House--would cause massive disruption and chaos in the individual market for health insurance.
Reporters who are interested in receiving an advance copy of the issue brief on how an ACA repeal will affect the insurance market, please email Liz Bartolomeo at [email protected].
