Business news: Primary, end of life care offices in Alachua County

Gainesville Sun, The (FL)

Mar. 13—Two new medical offices are new to Alachua County that will offer primary and end of life care to residents. Two Gainesville residents have also recently been recognized in their fields.

Here's a look at recent business news:

Chapters Health System opens Alachua office

Chapters Health System, a provider for support and care for those affected by advanced illnesses, has opened an office in Alachua at San Felasco Tech City that will serve as the base for its North Florida operations. Chapters, headquartered in Tampa, will now serve 11 North Central Florida counties up to the Georgia border.

The 3,800-square-foot office space will house 15-20 employees, but a majority of Chapters' work is performed off site, said Chief Operating Officer Dean Forman.

Hospice workers operate in assisted living facilities, group homes and in homes to provide 24-hour care, 365 days a year.

Forman said Chapters stands out from other hospice care in that its workers try to help people manage chronic severe illnesses in advance of it reaching end stage.

"We think that will have a powerful impact on building trust and providing quality care," he said.

Medical office leased to Palms Medical Group

Hampton Oaks, a 24,000-square-foot medical office building at 124 SW 62nd St., has been leased to The Palms Medical Group. The building is less than a mile from North Florida Regional Medical Center and 1.3 miles from Interstate 75.

The GNV Commercial Advisory Team and The Hurst Harrell Team, both associated with the Colliers International Gainesville office, helped negotiate the transaction.

PMG is a not-for-profit health care provider with more than 15 locations. Its goal is to bring quality, affordable primary care to the communities of North Florida.

Gainesville agent announced as 2021 Florida Realtors treasurer

Gia Arvin, broker-owner with Matchmaker Realty in Gainesville, is the 2021 treasurer of Florida Realtors, the state's largest professional trade association. The group includes about 200,000 members.

A leader in local, state and national real estate associations, Arvin was 2011 president of the Gainesville-Alachua County Association of Realtors. She has served on numerous committees and been a director and District 1 vice president for Florida Realtors. She was also the 2017 Florida president of the Women's Council of Realtors.

As treasurer of the state association, Arvin will focus on providing Florida's Realtors with professional information, education and advocacy programs.

Renasant Bank announces Gainesville commercial relationship officer

Gainesville's Roger Morales has joined Renasant Bank at its Newberry Road branch as commercial relationship officer.

Morales has more than 20 years of banking experience and 12 years of working with business leaders in the Gainesville market. He and his family have lived in Gainesville since 2008.

Morales received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Florida International University and a master's in international business administration from Nova Southern University. He is a member of the Queen of Peace Catholic Community and is a volunteer for Samaritan's Purse through Operation Christmas Child.

Renasant has assets of approximately $14.9 billion and operates more than 200 banking, mortgage, financial services and insurance offices throughout the Southeast.
