Pantagraph (Bloomington, IL)

June 06--Business Achievements are paid announcements

Busey associates earn CFP marks

BLOOMINGTON -- The Busey Wealth Management team congratulates Financial Planning & Tax Specialists Jacob Taylor and Krystal Fortner on earning certified financial planner (CFP) designations from the CFP Board of Standards.

The CFP designation is among the most prestigious in the financial industry and is widely recognized as a symbol of professional expertise and integrity.

Taylor and Fortner assist financial and wealth advisers in engaging clients through the financial planning process. Their responsibilities include compiling data, creating personal financial statements, performing analysis and aiding in the development of recommendations and strategies to strengthen clients' financial health.

Taylor graduated with honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in agriculture and consumer economics. Fortner graduated from California State University, East Bay, with a master's degree in business administration and finance.

With nearly 70 years of experience, the five-member financial planning and tax team helps clients explore tax, legal and financial planning options available and most appropriate for their financial situation. The team serves all Busey Wealth Management clients.

Williams presented Platinum award

NORMAL -- Williams NationaLease, Ltd., was presented a Platinum award by Great West Casualty Company as part of the 2015 National Safety Awards program.

The National Safety Awards program recognizes motor carriers in similar operations (truckload and less than a truckload) with awards based on their year-end preventable crash results. Carriers are eligible to receive a Platinum, Gold, Silver or Participatory award. This past year, the National Safety Awards program drew more than 675 participants from across the country.

Great West Casualty Company is the nation's leading provider of property and casualty insurance for the trucking industry. With more than 50 years of experience, Great West offers risk management, underwriting, claims and loss control services exclusively to the trucking industry. Great West is headquartered in South Sioux City, Neb.

Williams NationaLease LTD is located in Normal and has offices in Michigan City, Ind., and Springfield.

Schneider retires after 32 years with CIRA

BLOOMINGTON -- After 32 years of service to the Central Illinois Regional Airport (CIRA), Donald G. Schneider, deputy director of security and special projects, retired May 31.

He began his career at the former Bloomington-Normal Airport in February 1984. His many and varied responsibilities through the years have included the supervision of maintenance and operations, the oversight and development of the airport's security program, FAA Part 139 compliance, construction management on the airfield, grounds and terminal projects and the creation and execution of a successful farm management program.

In the transition from a pre- to post-9/11 airport security environment, Schneider assisted in implementing and coordinating the newly formed TSA into the airport's facilities and served as the TSA liaison and airport security director until his retirement.

Construction projects administered and directed by Schneider have included the airport's primary Runway 2/20, the rehabilitation of Runway 11/29 and all taxiways, the airport fire station, the new terminal building and numerous other projects.

Schneider's significant contributions helped lead to the maturation of a small municipal airport on Bloomington's east side to a vibrant, successful commercial airport serving all of Central Illinois.

Hess retires from Cornerstone Advisers

BLOOMINGTON -- Ina Hess retired from Cornerstone Advisers on May 31.

She has worked as an administrative assistant in the financial services profession for more than 20 years. Prior to her financial services profession, she worked for the U.S. Department of Commerce. All in all, Ina has helped clients and bosses for more than 50 years.

Ina and her husband, Fred, who also recently retired, have been married for 48 years. They will be moving back to Ina's childhood hometown in West Virginia. Ina and Fred also plan to travel and take many cruises. An Alaskan Cruise beckons in the near future.

Ina's organization, work ethic, caring attitude, persistence and laugh will be missed by Cornerstone clients, fellow employees and the financial advisers, Joe Kula and Scot Jacobs. Good luck, Ina.

BroMenn receives stroke care recognition

NORMAL -- Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal has received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association's Get With the Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite. The award recognizes the hospital's commitment to providing the most appropriate stroke treatment based on the latest scientific evidence.

This is the fifth consecutive year that BroMenn has earned the Gold Plus award for its adherence to the association's guidelines for optimal care.

The hospital also moved this year from the Target: Stroke Honor Roll to the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite, earning the award by meeting specific quality achievement measures for the diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients at a set level for a designated period.

"This recognition further demonstrates our commitment to delivering advanced stroke treatments to patients quickly and safely," said Dr. Herman Dick, a neurologist and medical director of the hospital's stroke program. "Advocate BroMenn Medical Center continues to strive for excellence in the acute treatment of stroke patients. This recognition reinforces our team's hard work."

Advocate BroMenn Medical Center also is certified as a Primary Stroke Center, featuring a comprehensive system for rapid diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients admitted to the emergency department.
