Aug. 29--Two separate wrecks caused traffic snarls in Odessa Monday but left no one injured, the Odessa Police Department reported.
The first crash was reported at about 7:14 a.m. Monday at Highway 191 and East Loop 338, where police said a Jeep Cherokee traveling east in the 6300 block of the highway crossed the median and rolled. Police reported the 25-year-old driver, Samuel Berry, was issued tickets accusing him of failure to control his speed and driving without a valid license with no insurance.
The second wreck was reported at about 11:28 a.m. in the 1600 block of North Grant Avenue, where police said a Mercury Sable driven by an 84-year-old woman failed to control speed and drove into a building owned by Lowe's grocery store. No injuries were reported, and police reported they did not cite the driver because the wreck happened on public property.
