Daily Camera (Boulder, CO)
Oct. 30--A 20-year-old man was arrested over the weekend after police say he hit a fire truck and 14 other cars while driving drunk on University Hill.
Ian Edward Padgett, 20, was arrested on suspicion of DUI, underage possession of alcohol, obstruction of a peace officer, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to present evidence of insurance, according to court records.
Boulder police said that at about midnight on Saturday, Padgett was spotted by officers in the area of 12th Street and Euclid Avenue hitting a fire truck with his car. He then drove at a high rate of speed toward two officers and hit several more cars before officers were able to finally get Padgett into custody.
Police determined that Padgett had hit more cars before the incident, and believe that 14 cars were hit in addition to the fire truck. Nobody was injured in the incident.
