Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas Ranked Highest in Member Satisfaction Two Years in a Row by J.D. Power 2016 Member Health Plan Study

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Managed Care Weekly Digest -- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) ranked highest in member satisfaction among commercial health plans in the Texas region for the second consecutive year, according to the 2016 J.D. Power Member Health Plan Study(SM). BCBSTX also scored highest in five of the six factors examined by the study: provider choice; information and communication; claims processing; customer service; and coverage and benefits (see also Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas).

Now in its 10(th) year, the 2016 J.D. Power Member Health Plan Study surveyed a random sampling of 31,867 commercial health plan members across 135 health plans in 18 regions throughout the United States, including the Texas region, where the BCBSTX plan operates. The survey took place between October and December 2015 and polled consumers with group and individually purchased health insurance. The survey did not include individuals who purchased health care plans on the state or federal exchanges and does not include Medicare or Medicaid.
