Best-states-for-docs ranking puts state 22nd

Indiana rarely ranks near the top or bottom of any list, but often around the middle.

And so it is with the latest ranking: Best and Worst States for Doctors, compiled by WalletHub, a personal-finance website.

Indiana ranks 22nd among states and the District of Columbia for physicians, measuring such things as mean annual wages for physicians, number of physicians per capita, malpractice awards per capita, cost of malpractice insurance, and whether a state's medical board is seen as punitive.

The top five states, in order, were Mississippi, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and Iowa. The bottom five: Connecticut, Maryland, Rhode Island, New York and the District of Columbia.»
