Baker Welman Brown Insurance Issues Public Comment on Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Proposed Rule
* * *
With regard to any rule regarding compensation disclosure, We have no problem telling a prospect/client that we are getting paid a commission to help them enroll.
In fact we ALWAYS tell our clients that we are getting paid by the insurance company and that the client should call us if they have problems.
We do not need some type of requirement that we have a client sign something about commissions. This will only make our job more difficult and do nothing to protect the consumer.
In recommending the "best" health insurance plan to someone we are looking at the client's needs, the network of hospitals and doctors available in a plan, the service the plan provides to agents and clients and the price of the plan.
Thank you for reading my comments.
