WASHINGTON, Feb. 16 -- The American Council of Life Insurers issued the following statement by President and CEO Dirk Kempthorne on the Trump administration's infrastructure investment initiative:
"The long-term nature of life insurer obligations to policyholders makes investments in vital economic and social infrastructure projects, ranging from bridge repairs and airport expansions to updating water treatment plants and university facilities, an excellent fit.
"We seek to properly match the duration of our long-term liabilities with long-term investments.
"We look forward to working with Congress and the administration on a bipartisan infrastructure bill that will address America's infrastructure gap."
