ALDOI PROMOTES TOMPKINS TO CONSUMER SERVICES MANAGER

The Alabama Department of Insurance (ALDOI) has promoted Stephanie Tompkins to manager of the Consumer Services Division.
She succeeds Dusty Smith, who was recently promoted to Deputy Commissioner for Insurance Regulation.
Tompkins is an insurance professional with more than 25 years of experience in underwriting, regulatory compliance and consumer protection.
"As a member of our Consumer Services team, Stephanie has investigated complex insurance complaints and helped ensure fair outcomes for consumers," said Commissioner Mark Fowler. "Stephanie is an absolute ace when it comes to helping Alabama insurance consumers with their complaints and inquiries. Her extensive industry experience paired with her heart to help Alabamians makes her the ideal leader for the division."
Throughout her career, Tompkins has built a strong foundation in risk assessment, claims review, and policy analysis, along with a passion for educating others about insurance.
She has been with the department since 2016.
"Stephanie brings a combination of insurance industry knowledge, integrity, attention to detail and the ability to show compassion to consumers that makeher a great fit to lead the Consumer Services Division," said Deputy Commissioner Dusty Smith, who oversees the division.
Tompkins holds a Master of Science in Management and is pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration.
