Richard W. Nenno, Esquire, elevated to two leadership posts
WILMINGTON, Del.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Wilmington Trust, one of the nation’s leading wealth management companies, announced that Richard W. Nenno, managing director and trust counsel, has been appointed to the Council for the Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section of the American Bar Association (ABA). Mr. Nenno will serve as Supervisory Council Representative to the Non-Tax Estate Planning Considerations Group, which he formerly chaired, and as a member of the Corporate Sponsorship Committee.
Mr. Nenno has advised high-net-worth individuals and families throughout the United States and abroad since joining Wilmington Trust’s Wealth Advisory Services (WAS) business in 1982. A nationally recognized expert in estate planning law, Mr. Nenno was selected in 2007 for the Distinguished Accredited Estate Planner award and designation from The National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC); he also holds the Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner designation. Mr. Nenno, who is blind, has also served on the ABA’s Commission on Mental and Physical Disability Law. He is the author of several books, including Delaware Trusts 2010 (Thomson Reuters/West, 2010) and speaks regularly at exclusive professional meetings across the country.

Mr. Nenno is a cum laude graduate of Princeton University with an A.B. degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, and earned his J.D. degree from Harvard Law School. He holds many professional affiliations, including memberships in the Delaware State Bar Association, where he is a past chair of the Estates and Trusts Section; the Estate Planning Council of Delaware, Inc., where he is a past president; and the Philadelphia Bar Association. Early in his career, Mr. Nenno was an associate in the Estates Department of the Philadelphia law firm of Ballard, Spahr, Andrews & Ingersoll.
