Wilk Auslander Attorney Stuart M. Riback to Participate in Faculty of Practising Law Institute’s 2010 Intellectual Property Program in New York City

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Stuart M. Riback, a partner in the New York office of Wilk Auslander LLP, will be participating as a faculty member in PLI’s “Understanding the Intellectual Property License 2010” program, scheduled for October 21-22, 2010 in New York. The program will address various IP licensing issues and trends affecting businesses today, including the economic opportunities that licensing offers, strategies for negotiating and drafting effective license agreements, the different kinds of licensing agreements and the business and legal issues related to them.

Mr. Riback will be speaking on bankruptcy issues related to licensing including the treatment of IP and IP licenses under bankruptcy law, the consequences of licensors and licensees going bankrupt, the structuring of IP transactions to address bankruptcy risk, negotiating tips to address the bankruptcy contingency and preserving IP rights in the face of bankruptcy.

Mr. Riback is a business litigator with substantial experience in financial, commercial, intellectual property and creditors rights cases. He is a graduate of Columbia Law School, where he was a member of the Law Review and was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar all three years. After graduating from law school, Mr. Riback served as a law clerk to Judge Peter K. Leisure of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. He began his career in private practice at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, then worked at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan before joining Wilk Auslander. Mr. Riback has appeared as trial and appellate counsel in many courts throughout the United States, including the United States Supreme Court.
