Amerigroup Names New Chief Compliance Officer

Amerigroup Corp., a Fortune 500 Company that coordinates services for individuals in publicly funded health care programs, has hired Georgia Dodds Foley as the company's new chief compliance officer.

Dodds Foley comes to Amerigroup with more than two decades of experience focused on senior-level legal, compliance and ethics positions in the health care industry. Most recently, she served as deputy compliance and ethics officer for CIGNA Corporation in Philadelphia, overseeing compliance for the organization's domestic operations.

Chrysler Group Appoints New Independent Board Members

The Chrysler Group has appointed to its board two new independent directors.

Leo Houle was chief talent officer of BCE and Bell Canada from 2001 until he retired in July 2008. He will join the compensation and leadership development committee.

John LanawayNorth America, of advertising agency McCann Erickson from 2007 until June 2011. He sits on the audit committee.

The two new directors replace Chairman Robert Kidder, George Gosbee, and Scott Stuart, who have resigned from the board. Chief Executive Officer Sergio Marchionne will add the chairman role to his duties.

Ronald Thompson, who has served as a director since 2009, was elected as lead director.

Ford Motor Company Elects New Board Member

Ford Motor Company has elected William Helman to the company's board of directors, effective immediately. Helman additionally will serve on the Ford board of directors' finance committee; sustainability committee; and the nominating and governance committee.

Helman is a partner with Greylock Partners, where he has served since 1984. In his role at Greylock, Helman focuses on enterprise software, consumer internet, healthcare and biotechnology.

Green Mountain Names Chief Accounting Officer

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters has appointed Stephen Gibbs to the newly created position of vice president and chief accounting officer. He will report to Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, Frances Rathke.

Gibbs will provide strategic leadership for the accounting operations, including financial reporting, accounting, tax, financial systems, policies and controls.

The company said it established the position to strengthen its accounting function and overall financial control environment. The move follows recent concern over the company's accounting practices after it disclosed an error in its K-Cup reporting to the Securities Exchange Commission in September 2010.

Gibbs, who held key finance posts at public companies for 15 years, most recently served as vice president, chief accounting officer, and corporate controller of Scientific Games Corp., where he was responsible for all aspects of accounting and reporting for domestic and international operations. Prior to that, he managed accounting research at the Coca-Cola Co..

Easton-Bell Sports Names New Board Members

Easton-Bell Sports, a designer, developer, and marketer of innovative sports equipment and accessories under the Easton, Bell, Riddell and Giro brands, has appointed David Perdue, CEO of Aquila Group and former CEO and chairman of Dollar General, and Michael Wilskey, former brand and marketing executive at Nike, to its board of directors.

Perdue is currently the CEO of Aquila Group, a private investment firm. From 2003 to 2007, he served as chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Dollar General Corp. His prior experience includes serving as president of the Reebok brand, in addition to executive positions with Haggar and Sara Lee.

Wilskey, a 25-year Nike veteran, held numerous executive brand marketing, product innovation, international, and category management roles during his tenure.

MasterCard Appoints New Controller

MasterCard has appointed Andrea Forster corporate controller and principal accounting officer. Forster previously worked at Pepsi Bottling Group in various positions, including corporate controller and vice president of North America finance; most recently she was vice president of supply chain transformation at PepsiCo.

Forster will report to Martina Hund-Mejean, MasterCard's CFO. John Sulca, who held the controller job on an interim basis since May, will continue as assistant controller of the company.

New Century Bancorp Promotes CCO to Head Risk Management

New Century Bancorp, the holding company for New Century Bank, has named Celia DeBiase as chief risk officer. In this role, DeBiase will serve on the company's executive management team.

DeBiase's responsibilities will include managing a process for assessing, identifying, monitoring, and reducing business risks that could interfere with the company's objectives and goals. Her areas of oversight will include the newly formed risk management department.

DeBiase joined New Century Bank in 2008 as chief compliance officer. She previously served as compliance officer for Bethpage Federal Credit Union, and before that as vice president and executive communications manager for Dime Savings Bank of New York.

Asbury Automotive CAO Departs

Asbury Automotive Group has announced the resignation of Bryan Hanlon as controller and chief accounting officer, effective Aug. 26. He will be relocating out-of-state to be closer to his family, the company said.

Chief Financial Officer Scott Krenz will assume Hanlon's responsibilities as principal accounting officer on an interim basis until a replacement has been found.

Viridian Energy Names General Counsel

Viridian Energy, a provider of green retail energy, has appointed Jan Fox as general counsel. She will be responsible for strategic oversight and the development and management of legal, regulatory and compliance affairs for Viridian.

Fox joins Viridian with 20 years of legal and energy regulatory experience. Most recently, Fox was president of JLF Energy Consulting. She also had held positions as general counsel and executive vice president of regulatory affairs for Strategic Energy, the deregulated energy subsidiary of Great Plains Energy. Prior to Strategic Energy, Fox was a partner at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae (now Dewey & LeBoeuf), where she managed multiple legal and regulatory matters across the country.
