Under Construction: Bent Creek Golf Villas

Location: 100 and 200 blocks of Templeton Lane, Hixson

Typical house size: 2,100 to 2,350 square feet

Scope: This 39-townhome subdivision features three-bedroom townhomes clustered in two- or three-unit buildings. Each townhome includes a two-car garage, and homeowners can chose from three different floor plans, some of which include a fourth bedroom. While homeowners buy the home and own the ground, the subdivision's homeowner's association handles all insurance and exterior maintenance.

Price per unit: All but one home in the new development is already sold. Prices start around $200,000, but most homes sold for about $240,000 after buyers customized with carpet, cabinetry, countertops and paint colors.

Timeline: 25 townhomes are finished, 11 are currently under construction and three are still in the pipeline

History: Trey Moss, president of Chattanooga Construction Company, started work on Bent Creek Golf Villas in November 2012 and held a grand opening in April. He's thrilled with how well the homes have sold. "We sold 75 percent of them within four weeks of opening," he said. "This was a test project for us on how Chattanooga would absorb and react to these floor plans and this project. Now we're looking at two other projects in Chattanooga that are townhome-related."
