PEARL RIVER, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/02/10 -- U.S. RE, the international financial services and reinsurance brokerage firm, has entered into a strategic partnership with an ownership stake in Thornberry Consulting of Indianapolis, Indiana, developer of GeoEstimator®, a leading-edge analytical entity providing innovative remote measurement and risk assessment technology to the insurance, financial services, real estate, and construction industries. National Catastrophe Adjusters (NCA), a leading national claims management company and a partner of U.S. RE in Blue Hill Claims Management, LLC, and Dale Thornberry, the Company's founder, are the other shareholders.
Thornberry introduced GeoEstimator® to the property insurance market and roofing industry in 2009 and has since expanded into other markets. The technology enables users to have streamlined access to the most accurate overlay of land and property conditions using satellite and aerial technology to facilitate reports with accurate measurements of the exterior components of any structure at a reasonable cost. Among other things, GeoEstimator® creates a 3D Sketch Model of individual properties. It calculates total living area; measures roofs and captures precise angles; provides a desktop tool to expedite the adjustment of a high volume of exterior claims; enhances adjuster productivity; improves turnaround times; improves customer service and satisfaction; provides a comprehensive desktop underwriting tool; and enables access to the software through Apple's iPhone®.
"We're delighted to play a major role in advancing this technology within the purview of those services provided by the U.S. RE Group including U.S. RE Analytics, LLC," said Tal Piccione, Chairman and CEO of U.S. RE. "We are now working with our partners and others to enable the delivery of GeoEstimator® to a huge universe of insurers and clients in other industries. Some of the nation's leading insurers have already adopted this innovative technology and are utilizing GeoEstimator® within their underwriting and claims workflows," he added.
In addition to productivity and efficiency benefits, GeoEstimator® reduces the risk of personal injury or property damage; ensures estimating accuracy; increases the efficiency of adjusters; increases measurement accuracy; provides consistent reporting methods; and can be used as an effective dispute resolution tool. It can be synchronized with other technology dealing with catastrophe exposure management, insurance-to-value, and a host of other activities.
U.S. RE and NCA are offering GeoEstimator® to risk takers for underwriting, claims, and risk management. The product also will be offered through U.S. RE Analytics where, among other things, it will be involved in supporting more efficient front-end policy administration along with deployment of Dynamic Financial Analysis and catastrophe modeling technologies.
