Treatment Center Finder Expands Their Addiction Hotline

PR Web

(PRWEB) February 14, 2014

The problem of addiction has risen dramatically in recent years in the United States. In October of 2013 it was stated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human services that around 20.4 million people were involved in illicit drug use over the past 30 days. The 2012 National Survey on Drug Use and Health shows an average increase of 10% in drug and alcohol abuse across all ages and addiction types. Addictions to drugs or alcohol was stable from 2002 until 2006 according to NSDUH but has since showed an increase, rising since then to the present day.

The motto at Treatment Center Finder is "We are here to help you find the best treatment available." The specialists on their addiction hotline are here to help with the steps taken to a better life and overcoming the situations that have arisen. Every person is different in their needs and life so they treat everyone according to their needs. They offer not only the one on one help that many people need but also the convenience of a free insurance verification, a free confidential assessment, recommendations to state-of-the-art facilities, and the ability to start treatment within 24 hours. Their facilities help with all sorts of addiction including drug and alcohol rehabilitation, dual diagnosis treatment, Christian and faith-based rehab centers, gambling addiction, drug and alcohol detox, and eating disorder treatments.

Recently Treatment Center Finder expanded into 6 new states with their addiction hotline and would like to help address this growing addiction problem – Washington State, California, Oregon, Ohio, Illinois, and Texas.

Here are the facts about what makes it so important that they decided to expand into these six specific areas:

Some key points include:

   •      Around 3 out of every 10 car crashes in California that are fatal are related to drug abuse
   •     81% of all the arrests that were done in Sacramento, CA were involved with someone that tested positive for drug or alcohol use.
   •     Illegal drugs are used by 3.1 million people in California alone.

According to the 2012 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, “Ohio has a mild to moderate level of illicit drug use." Some statistics on the Ohio illicit drug use is:

   •      Ohio was known to be one of the top ten states when it came to non-medical related use of drugs. This includes pain medication with people of the ages between 18 and 25 in 2007 to 2008 – one of the big reasons we are seeing an increase in heroin use across the US. However, prescription opioids now kill more than 5x the amount of people each year compared to heroin. This fact was highlighted recently due to the heroin overdose of beloved actor Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Illinois has over 5,500 a year, or 5% of the total deaths in the state, that are related to some form of addiction. Other statistics include:

   •     The total accidental deaths each year average around 10,000 in Illinois. 40% or more of these are addiction related focusing highly on alcohol abuse.

Texas is known to take the eighth spot in the country for the lowest overdose rates. That still doesn't take away from the fact that addiction is a growing problem.

   •     In the Lone star State, 9.6 of every 100,000 residents had overdoses in 2011.
   •     The rate of drug related deaths in Texas has risen 78% from 1999 to 2011.

Oregon's addiction problems are focused highly on substance abuse.

   •     The state of Oregon is number one in the country for non-medical pain medication used by persons between the ages of 18 and 25.
   •     It has been calculated that almost double the average for the country of 8th graders abuse substances.
   •     They are also second in the country for illicit drug use, excluding marijuana.

Washington is one of the top ten states in the country with the highest rate of marijuana and drug abuse in persons over the age of 12 years old. In 2011 in Washington State:

   •     It was reported that in high school 31.8% of seniors, 23.2% of 10th graders, and nearly 5% of 6th graders admitted to alcohol use in the past 30 days.
   •     2/3 of the high schools and 1/3 of the middle schools were known to have access to drugs within the vicinity.

Treatment Center Finder is looking to get a head start in fighting these illnesses spreading across the country. With 12 states now covered under their addiction helpline, they are soon looking to spread their reach to the entire United States. CEO, Corey Shader, has said, “We have plans to expand to every state and are going to get there fast. The amount of treatment centers under our programs is growing each month and we are helping thousands to overcome addiction each year.”
