The Midland Group Earns Trademark For Self-Pay Solutions®

PR Web

Lawrence, Kansas (PRWEB) March 25, 2014

The Midland Group has earned trademark approval for its Self-Pay Solutions®, already in use within client hospitals nationwide. The program is a complete system of services to maximize and expedite self-pay patient revenue recovery of every type. The Self-Pay Solutions® system includes: Public Benefits Eligibility, Prompt Pay and Early Pay Options, management of Extended Payment Plan Options, and 501(r) and Charity Management. The program kicks in upon initial contact with an uninsured or under-insured patient.

"Our Self-Pay Solutions® system has helped many hospitals throughout the country settle difficult accounts for years," said The Midland Group CEO Roger McCollister. "We are thrilled to be the exclusive provider of this specific program, and look forward to helping even more hospitals navigate changes to the industry in the ACA era and increase payment."

As soon as a patient steps foot in a hospital, The Midland Group's Self-Pay Solutions® program begins. The company screens patients for Medicaid, Social Security or insurance eligibility and helps the patient apply for proper coverage. If a patient is not eligible for public benefits, The Midland Group will offer prompt pay and early pay options to patients, who are true self pay or have balances after insurance is applied. The early-pay program extends the payment period to 90 to 120 days for final payment.

As an alternative to hard collections, which is forbidden by 501(r) within the first 120 days, The Midland Group can offer its extended payment option. Extended payment allows for monthly payments at a low interest rate to the patient. Finally, if a patient does not have the financial resources to pay on his or her account, The Midland Group will guide the patient to the correct path as established by new 501(r) guidelines and/or the hospital's charity care program. Midland's Self-Pay Solutions® services includes post-discharge financial counseling to ensure that all patients are given the opportunities afforded by the hospital's charity and financial guidelines.

To learn more about the Self-Pay Solutions® system, contact The Midland Group, or visit the Self-Pay Solutions® page at http://www.midlandgroup.com.

The Midland Group, a nationally recognized provider of Self-Pay Solutions® for hospitals, is owned and controlled by a non-profit charitable trust. In addition to Medicaid advocacy, they provide flexible, affordable and low-interest patient payment plans to hospitals as part of their mission to improve access to healthcare for low-income and uninsured patients. For more information about The Midland Group and their Self-Pay Solutions®, call (855) 890-9586 or info(at)midlandgroup(dot)com.
