Tenn And Tenn Comments on Factory Explosion Where Victims Need Answers

No cause has yet been announced for an explosion that ripped through a ball bearing factory last week. Attorney John Tenn of Tenn And Tenn PA says the silence leaves victims and their families in a legal limbo—but they have options.

The explosion at New Hampshire Ball Bearings Inc. likely started in the factory's acid room according to ABC (retrieved 02.17.2014), but few other details have been released. At least 14 workers were injured by the explosion, which ripped apart ceilings, blew out windows and damaged factory walls.

That's particularly true before all the details of an accident are known, Tenn said.

“Ideally a patient would be treated immediately and then insurance would provide the full cost of their treatment and lost wages,” he said. “But insurance companies want to pay the least possible, and often make quick cash offers that turn out to be far too low.”

Tenn says that his firm recommends all injured workers talk to a lawyer before accepting an insurance check or signing any forms.

“If you sign away your right to compensation, it may be too late to go back when more complications arise. Right now we don't even know what caused the explosion or if New Hampshire Ball Bearings was keeping up with all safety laws. That will deeply affect what the company's insurer offers workers.”
