Symetra Names Jonathan Curley EVP, Life Division

Life Industry Executive Joins Symetra from Wells Fargo

BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Symetra Life Insurance Company today announced the appointment of Jonathan Curley as executive vice president of its Life Division, effective Nov. 1, 2010.

Curley will have profit-and-loss responsibility for Symetra’s individual life insurance business, including strategy development, product management, underwriting, product marketing, service and operations. He will report to Tom Marra, Symetra president and chief executive officer.

Curley will join Symetra from Wells Fargo Insurance Services USA, Inc., where he currently serves as senior vice president and managing director of Individual Insurance. At Wells Fargo, he leads the life insurance marketing and personal risk management groups, and is president of Wells Fargo Insurance Services Investment Advisors, Inc. He previously held senior executive positions at Wachovia Insurance Services. Over the course of his 35-year life insurance career, Curley also has worked at MCM (a Seattle-based financial services and insurance company), Berkshire Life Insurance Company, New England Mutual Life Insurance Company and Paul Revere Life Insurance Company.

He serves on the board of directors of FCTG Holdings, Inc., and chairs the board’s Audit Committee.
