Symetra Life names Richard LaVoice as executive VP of sales and distribution

A subsidiary of diversified financial services company Symetra Financial Corporation (NYSE:SYA), Symetra Life Insurance Company, announced the appointment today of Richard LaVoice as executive VP of Sales and Distribution for its life insurance and annuity products, with immediate effect.

LaVoice will oversee distribution strategy, sales, Symetra Investment Services (the company’s broker-dealer), channel marketing and sales operations and report to president and CEO Tom Marra, the company said.

Most recently LaVoice was corporate VP and national sales manager of Retirement Income at MassMutual Financial Group and has specialised in selling life insurance and investment products for almost three decades of his career. He has further served in senior sales positions at UBS Financial Services Inc, SunAmerica Retirement Markets Inc, Bear Stearns & Co and Shearson/Smith Barney.

Additionally, Symetra said that Pat McCormick will report to LaVoice as senior VP of National Accounts, managing the most of Symetra’s life and annuity sales besides bank partners, brokerages and general agencies.
