Physicians’ Reciprocal Insurers Hosts Upstate Risk Management Conference
ROSLYN, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Physicians’ Reciprocal Insurers (PRI), the second largest medical malpractice insurer in New York state, today announced that it will host its Upstate Risk Management Educational Conference on Wednesday, September 29 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Syracuse, NY. The full-day risk management conference for healthcare administrators, clinicians, and risk managers is comprised of a series of presentations and workshop sessions focused on emerging issues, case studies, public policy and future trends in medical malpractice.
The purpose of the conference is to foster a collaborative environment among like-minded healthcare professionals; as well as generate new ideas and spread best practices in performance improvement and patient safety. Participants will build their knowledge of practical approaches and implementation strategies for high risk areas, and have an opportunity to share ideas with peers from similar facilities.
“The healthcare industry is dynamic and risk managers must stay up to date on the latest trends and risk mitigation practices,” said Jeanne Braun, Executive Vice President of PRI. “We know there will be an engaged audience and look forward to the productive dialogue on approaches to risk management.”
In addition to PRI member presentations on acute hospital care, the conference features two compelling guest speakers. Patricia Heberger-Krause, RN, Director of Quality Improvement at Lakeside Health System, will speak on quality dashboards and their affect on performance and risk management. Ruth West, RN BS, Director of Regulatory Compliance for Health Care Compliance Group, will deliver a presentation on strategies for addressing challenging risk reduction areas such as falls, pressure ulcers and medications errors.
“We look forward to this conference and our annual conference in New York and the opportunity to provide our members with additional value,” said Braun.
