Servolution holds health clinic grand opening

April 16--Servolution Health Services held its dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting Monday evening in Speedwell.

Members of the community gathered at the clinic to take tours of the facility and hear guest speakers and religious leaders at the dedication service.

SHS offers dental and medical care for qualifying community members who are at or below the 200 percent poverty guideline and are without insurance. These services are provided due to grants, monetary donations and volunteer hours.

"There's a huge community of under-served and uninsured. We're a rural county and there's a lot of need for a lot of services," said Deborah Chumley, SHS wellness coordinator

The clinic has had 177 patient visits throughout the three months it has been open. The clinic is run completely by health care providers who donate their time and are eager about spreading the word of Jesus by helping the community.

"We are also very thankful for the Lord's provision of a wonderful facility where we can fulfill our mission of enhancing the health of our community through service full of excellence and compassion," said clinic Administrator Alicia Metcalf in the SHS Newsletter.

Servolution also offers exercise and fitness classes, a thrift shop, food pantry and wellness center which focuses on the prevention and treatment of chronic illnesses.
