Schroders appoints Head of Global Equities

NEW YORK, April 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Schroders is pleased to announce the appointment of Alex Tedder as Head of Global Equities.

Alex will join us in June 2014 from American Century Investments where he was Senior Vice President and Co-head of Global and Non-US Large Cap Strategies, managing US $21 billion of assets and a team of 15, as of December 31, 2013.

As Head of Global Equities, Alex will assume responsibility for the Global and International Equities team's business management and strategic planning. He will also lead the team and drive the development of the team's franchise. Simon Webber will retain his investment focus and portfolio management duties, working with the team's Global Sector Specialists to ensure that client portfolios benefit from the team's proven research capabilities and high-conviction idea generation.

There will be no change to the team's investment style or the main elements of the investment process. The approach utilizing global sector specialists will remain at the core of the team's investment process.

Alex Tedder - Biography

Alex Tedder was most recently senior vice president and co-head of global and non-US large cap strategies at American Century Investments (ACI). He joined ACI in 2006 and has worked in the financial industry since 1990.

Prior to this, he was with Deutsche Asset Management Ltd. where he spent 12 years in various capacities including Managing Director and Head of International Equities/portfolio manager. He was lead manager of the Deutsche International Select Equity Fund from inception in May 1995. He also previously served as co-manager of Scudder International Fund, Scudder Worldwide 2004 Fund, Deutsche Global Select Equity Fund and Dean Witter European Growth Fund. Prior to Deutsche, he worked for Schroders in the UK and Germany, where he was responsible for promoting European Equity mandates alongside Schroders' Private Equity operation.

He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Freiburg in Switzerland with a master's degree in economics and business administration. He holds A-levels in mathematics, history and economics from Winchester College in the United Kingdom. He also lectured in business economics and conducted postgraduate research at the University of Basel in Switzerland.
