Sapient Financial Group Advisors Present $1,000 to American Cancer Society
SAN ANTONIO, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 03/23/10 -- Financial advisors Pamela Green and Diana Scheel of Sapient Financial Group today presented a check for $1,000.00 to the San Antonio Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
The donation is part of an effort by Sapient Financial Group and Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. (MassMutual) to educate and advocate for financial preparedness among women.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month in 2009, Sapient Financial sponsored financial education seminars to help educate women about the importance of being financially prepared and suggest steps that they can take to prepare themselves and their families for the future. MassMutual pledged a $1,000 contribution to a local charity focused on cancer research, prevention and/or treatment for each qualifying seminar.
Pam Green and Diana Scheel teamed up with the American Business Women's Association (ABWA) and UTSC Radiologist Carol Dornbluth to provide such a seminar for San Antonio women, offering practical tips on how to get in good shape both financially and physically. They chose to donate the $1,000 MassMutual contribution to the San Antonio Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
"$1,000 will help us connect newly diagnosed breast cancer patients here in San Antonio with specially trained survivors through our Reach to Recovery program," said Clay Howell, American Cancer Society's Regional Director of Corporate Initiatives. "These volunteer survivors offer emotional support and understanding and help guide patients through their journey with the disease."
