Sacramento region’s Jeremy Briggs singing on “The Voice”

The first battles occurred Monday night on the Voice. Another round is scheduled for Tuesday night but a Voice spokeswoman said in an e-mail that she was not sure when Briggs' episode would appear.
And Briggs, who spoke Monday during a lunch break from his job with the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, wasn't talking about how he did.
"I'm not allowed to talk about anything that hasn't aired yet," he said.

"Moving forward I will probably change it over to my name," he said.

Briggs, who writes his own music, said the Voice gig "kinda just fell in my lap. They contacted my manager and one thing led to another."
Without being specific, he said the experience has been positive, saying that the Voice environment has been nurturing.
The show's format includes four competition stages: blind auditions, battle rounds, knockouts and live performance shows.

After the vocal sing-off, the coach must choose which of the two singers will advance to the knockout round. The losing artist can then be picked up by another coach.
