RouteOne Announces Availability of Red Flag Toolkit Through AFIP
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- RouteOne announced today the availability of The 'F&I Manager's Guide to the Red Flag Rule,' in kit form, through the Association of Finance Insurance Professionals (AFIP).
RouteOne dealers will receive 40 percent off the retail price of the Guide, which provides dealers the materials necessary to easily implement a program to help detect, prevent and mitigate identity theft. Included in the kit are fully customizable CD-based templates that include editable text for the corporate plan, participant job descriptions, user word tracks and all related material to assist dealers in preparing and implementing a written program for the FTC's "Red Flag Rule." The FTC has suspended its enforcement of the new "Red Flag Rule" from November 1, 2008 to May 1, 2009 to give creditors (for example, automobile dealers) and financial institutions, subject to FTC oversight, additional time in which to develop and implement a written identity theft prevention program. Dealers may wish to enhance their written identity theft program with the addition of an identity verification tool.
"We are pleased that AFIP will be providing this comprehensive Red Flag Guide to RouteOne dealers at a discounted price, especially at a time when concerns regarding compliance and identity theft are so prominent in the auto finance industry and dealers are looking to cut costs wherever possible," said Mike Jurecki, RouteOne CEO. "This tool, which is a great complement to RouteOne's ID Verification and Authentication service, will provide dealers easily editable electronic templates that they can use to develop their own internal procedures and processes to avoid identity theft in their dealership, and also address the Red Flag Rule requirements. This is yet another tool we can offer dealers to assist them in meeting their compliance needs."
In the Guide, dealers will also receive Red Flag wall notices to discourage identity thieves and ensure that all customers are aware of the dealership's identity theft policies before they reach the finance office. Many other useful tools are also available that are designed to fit in virtually any dealer's Red Flag program (additional supplies available as necessary). Dealers can visit www.afip.com/routeone to purchase the Red Flag compliance materials. RouteOne dealers will receive the Red Flag toolkit for a one-time fee of $75, a 40 percent discount off the $125 retail price, when they select "RouteOne" as the sponsoring organization on the online order form.
The guide complements RouteOne's Identify Verification and Authentication tool (IDV), powered by TransUnion(R), which is now available to dealers. IDV is completely integrated within the RouteOne system, and contains scoring and out-of-wallet questions for triggered applicants based on a configurable risk threshold. RouteOne is the only provider of an ID verification tool that may be used to conduct IDV transactions seamlessly with the credit application process for all business, including captive (Chrysler Financial, Ford Credit, GMAC and Toyota Financial Services) and non-captive financing. To learn more and to sign up for the service, dealers may log in to the RouteOne platform and follow the subscription instructions, or they may visit www.transunion.com/routeone/protectmydealership. Dealers may also contact their captive representative, RouteOne representative, or RouteOne Sales Support at 866.933.0663 for further information.
